It has been heavily discovered, scientifically investigated and extremely well known. There are 900-1000 species under discovered (Yang et al.,2004). According to Block et al. (1955), A. phalloids was one of the earliest identified toxic mushroom. One bite of this mushroom can kill an adult (Wieland, 1968 ). The study from 1994-2012 from china that involved 852 patient and 182 death is come from 16 species of poisonous mushroom . Amanita is in the first list among the 16 species. It was reported , Amanita continuously spreading and expending its range wordwide(Wolfe et al,2010) . So, it is important for community to know the morphology, Amanita groups and to differentiate between edible and lethal mushroom. Don't eat it unless you are 100% sure that it is edible! |
